GEMAISA included among the 36 PROMISING PRACTICES in Mainstreaming Gender by the EU

We are proud to announce that GEMAISA regional project has been included among the 36 “PROMISING PRACTICESin Mainstreaming Gender into European External Action from the 2018 Annual Implementation Report of the EU Gender Action Plan II”. 

 The compendium highlights cases collected through the 2018 EU Gender Action Plan II’s Annual Implementation Report and the 2018 External Assistance Management Reports (EAMR). 

A promising practice for gender equality is an opportunity for the EU, partner governments and implementing partners to: 

1. raise awareness about the state of play of gender equality; 
2. provide information on the causes that produce gender inequalities and gender-based discrimination; 
3. promote understanding of how gender inequality intersects with other inequalities on the basis of age, gender, ethnicity, socio-economic situation, sexual identities, etc.; and 
4. give greater visibility to good results for the attainment of gender equality in a given context/sector. 

This achievement results from the commitment of all the GEMAISA Institutional partners and the Italian Cooperation towards mainstreaming GEWE in agriculture and sustainable rural development through participatory gender transformative approaches.
