Training on gender concepts and mainstreaming in Lebanon

A training programme on Gender Concepts and Mainstreaming started on 2 December 2020, organized by the GEMAISA team and MoA staff with the involvement of the gender expert and trainer Zeina Abdel Khalek. Due to the  COVID-19 restrictions, the training was held online, through the Zoom platform. 

80 participants attended the training from the Directorate of Agriculture, the Green Plan and the Lebanese Agriculture Research Institute, with the objective of involving a larger audience including engineers, Heads of Departments and Head of services from other Directorates.

The training was organized in cycles of two days each for groups of 15-20 trainees, in order to ensure active participation and interaction. The sessions focused on gender issues and  mainstreaming in the projects and programmes implemented by the Ministry. The trainees  showed a great interest and were actively involved in the discussion. 

Follow-up trainings are planned for the coming weeks in order to consolidate the concepts introduced and to put in practice the gender mainstreaming principles.
