GEMAISA2 Inception Workshop
The inception workshop took place in Cairo on 24th June 2019. The workshop was Organized by GEMAISA team,in collaboration with the Central Administration of Foreign Agricultural Relations of the MALR, with the participation of women beneficiaries from El Fayoum and Sohag Governorates. the event was aimed at officially presenting the project to the mainstakeholders. The participants included representatives of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, of several MALR bodies – such as the Agriculture Research Center the Agricultural Extension Sector, the Executive Agency for Comprehensive Development Projects – as well as of international development organizations, international and national NGOs and civil society organizations, national institutions and the private sector.
The first session of the workshop aimed at presenting the project rational and objectives and role of the PCUWA; while the second session discussed the outcomes of the Participatory Action Research conducted in collaboration with Le Nove Association.
The presentations of the speakers promoted an interesting debate and several interventions from the participants, that focused on recommendations and best practices aimed at building sustainable opportunities for the commercialization of women’s products.
