Soft skills training course in El Fayoum Governorate
The soft skills training course took place in Sennouris District, El Fayoum Governorate, in December 2019, for a total duration of 3 days. The training was organized by the project team in coordination with El Tarikk Association for Development and El Fayoum Agriculture Directorate. The training aimed at the beneficiaries of GEMAISA2, with the following objectives:
- Introducing gender equality principles;
- Developing women’s negotiation, leadership and time management skills;
- Improving communication skills
- Discovering and strengthening creative skills
- Enhancing women’s social intelligence through sharing real life situations to stimulate problem-solving abilities.
The training was based on an “Active Learning” approach, using different practical and theoretical tools to actively engage the participants, includingbrainstorming, group-working, storytelling of successful cases, sharing personal perceptions, psychological tests, discussion groups, learning games, use of video, photos and drawings.
From the pre and post training evaluation and the feedbacks received, it can be argued that these training are very useful for women, as they provide a “space” where they feel free to express themselves and spend time with friends, a very important element to increase their self-confidenceand self-awareness.
