The five-day course on fundraising, project and action plan development was held in February 2021 at the National Institute of Marine Sciences and Technology (INSTM) – centre of Zarzis, Tunisia.
The training course, organized by the Regional Commissariat for Agricultural Development of Médenine (CRDA Médenine) and offered by LIT members during the PAR, involved 15 participants – women and men, from various Agriculture and Fisheries Development Groups (GDAP), different departments of CRDA Médenine, the Interprofessional Group of Fishery Products (GIPP) and the Vocational Training Centre for Fisheries of Zarzis.
The training, with the objective of supporting the GDAPs to access financial support and ensuring the visibility of the organisation, focused on the following topics:
- presentation of GDAPs: mission, vision, previous experiences with fundraising and identification of funding needs
- fundraising: identification, needs and types of funds and identification of donors
- identification of donors: analysis of calls for tenders, analysis of the adequacy between the missions of the GDAP and the donor
- writing a project proposal and developing an action plan
As a result, knowledge about project funding platforms has improved and, during the training, GDAPs prepared drafts for a fundraising proposal taking into consideration: the mission, the target population and the specificities of intervention’s GDAP zones.
